Warning lights

Delicanadians,

Freezing weather is wreaking havoc. My battery and fuel filter warning lights won't go off, and my Deli is running a little rough. To quote directly from the manual:
Battery charge warning - usually off when driving. If on (which it should be at
start-up), it shows that the battery is not being charged. If it comes on while
driving it means there is an electrical fault, in battery, alternator, or alternator
drive belt (the belt could be broken or simply slipping). You might be able to
continue driving for some time especially if you can limit the amount of
electrical load.
Fuel filter warning - usually off. If on, there is water that needs to be drained
from the base of the fuel filter.
I'm at a loss about how to fix this, short of driving it to the nearest Delica-friendly shop. Any suggestions?

Prime fuel filter first and see what happens to you.
Extreme cold weather might cause battery warning, I guess.

run through the post you quoted if you have the resources.

when those lights pop up and stay on or flicker, it points to a charge fault @ alternator or battery.

Dropped Deli off at ProStar in Calgary this morning. By 12:30 Dan had the alternator rebuilt and re-installed for $388. Running smooth again. :-)
