Seat Belts issues

I just noticed that the inertia locks on the captain chairs seat belts (the lap belt ones) barely work if at all. It is a real chore to snap it hard enough to get either one to lock and if it does, it is a miracle. Anyone else have this problem? I am going to take it apart and see if I can figure out why but was hoping someone else has dealt with it first and I dont have to do any thinking.

Mine only work when the vehicle is decelerating or if you give them a tap as you yank on the belt.

Mine do that same thing.
I noticed some dust/lint seems build up in them. You could try blowing some compresses air in the clean them out.
The shoulder belts are much better, assuming the seats a facing forward.

Don't take it apart!
Captains chair seatbelts work on a pendulum system:

If you yank the seatbelts (while stationary), the mechanism will not engage. However, if you actually hit something (e.g., car or tree), the pendulum swings forward and engages.
To test, rock seat forward sharply
while yanking on the seatbelt...

Thanks Mark, you are correct, slide the seat forward and slam it into the end while pulling and it locks instantly. 1 less project on my list.
