Anyone have complete dimensionals for L400 skid plates? (something tells me Jesse does)

I have the dimensions for the stock plate that comes with the Chamonix's but if I were to fab one up, I would elongate it to cover the front of the oil pan and wings/sides for the oil filter.

If you're considering fabbing a skid plate for your L400, I may be interested in having another made for my 95 Super Exceed.

Looks like I have 3 sets to negotiate with the fabricator. Anyone else interested?
I am looking at having a full length one made for my SWB L400 and Mr. Bishi's LWB Paj.
blevesque@shaw.ca: What length are you after? Stock, full length to the T-Case....

I was thinking stock but would consider full length too dependent on cost.

What material are you going with? My previous set got a bit beat up as the stock stuff is pretty thin, so some sturdier stuff might make this a one-time thing.
And some better oil hardware protection *would* be cool too (nag, nag, nag), but I'm interested in whatever you decide to go for. I have a SWB L400.
How many do you need to get the price down?
Cheers,
Tony.

Hey Big Bird, I would want one if the price is reasonable. Please keep me in mind and drop me a line when you know pricing. I believe I saw a template for a l400 skid plate on this site or the UK site. I will try to find it again.

What's the ballpark cost on them?

I have the dimensionals courtesy of a link from Jesse. I will also be using my own stock plates as a guide for fit. My Xterra has thick aluminum plates that have taken a few hits over the years from stumps and such. While not a strong as equivalent thickness of steel it won't rust and is lighter.
I want aluminum but will get pricing on steel as well for those that want it.

Interested too if it is going to be tougher than the original one and not a million dollars.

I am interested as well for the same reasons stated above. A million dollars is only slightly out of my price range

Stephen got back to me on the pricing based on the dimensional drawing from the UK website.
Material of choice for all his plates and bumpers is
1/4 inch 6061 T6 aluminum. Bash plates come with welded ribs for strength along the perimeter of the plate.
$420.00 CDN each + gst
Now if you want something longer to provide tranny / tcase protection the cost is minimal at around 25.00-40.00 for the extra material and the touch of welding needed for the ribs but the drawing looks like it already goes that far. Will know more when I meet with him in March.
Oh in case anyone is wondering about the strength of this material it has been field tested on a Cummins Dodge truck and the plate prevented a large sharp rock from piercing the oil pan. All it did was scratch the plate with nearly zero deformation of the plate. Well worth the investment for trail worthy Deli's and it would weigh far less than steel of equivalent strength.
And if you want a price comparison for a steel set from across the pond:

Interested, especially since some idiot with a floor jack (me) just crumpled my stock ones.

Looks like there is enough interest now.
Once I am ready to meet with Stephen at his shop in Bluffton (just west of Ponoka, AB) i will need to get some key measurement confirmations from those of you with the LWB Spacegears. Something tells me that all the main braces for the drive train are the same for both SWB and LWB models but better to be sure.
