I'm Down-Under in Adelaide and met an Aussie fella a couple of days ago who has a real thing for left-hand drive American trucks. He told me that unless they are 30 years old or more they cannot be registered in Australia unless they are converted to right-hand drive. He also told me that people have purchased imported cars and restored them only to find that they were imported under a 'parts vehicle permit and can NEVER be registered and driven here :-( Funny thing, the next day I saw the only left-hand drive I've seen here motor by - A huge late 50's / early 60's Caddy... Lucky for our Aussie com padres delicas are right-hand drive or they'd be in worse shape than the Americans for getting into one...

Australia's import rules 'RAWS' are awesome. I wish we had that here. But they have a 'pre 88' rule which is similar to our 15 year rule.. except theirs isn't rolling. So anything pre '88 is legit for import.

Not according to the Aussies I've talked to about it - There is a concern about left-hand drives - They must be 30 years or older to import which means 82 or older. Any Australians here have comment?

As far as I know, konadog is right. Well here in Victoria at least. But I'm pretty sure it' s the same in every state here.
