import bus?

Post by after oil »

someone is asking around about importing a bus for them to transport students. something like 15 passenger or more. off road capability would be a plus, but not required. does anybody have any ideas?

just buy a used local 15 passenger transport bus similar to the small transit busses. they are cheap and available by the dozen locally, there has probably been over a dozen for sale in the past year on the auction block in good shape selling for under 10k. not sure i see the point of importing.

Import restrictions are different for buses. No 15 year rule....has to be older than 1971 I believe. Might be able to import a bus under 15year rule if it is already converted to an RV not sure...in that case a Mitsubishi Rosa 4WD might be real nifty.

I've seen 4wd diesel buses 12-28 seaters down in WA/OR/CA for under 10k. Gets posted often on expo and other overland forums as they make for a good overland conversion with parts a plenty.

Search for Bluebird 4x4's

it deepends on who you want to put in there....

school buses need to meet roll over standards...that the fibregass bus would not meet

major standards started in late 1970s....
