Seems no one wants one. :(

With apologies to the chap looking to sell the diff, might I use this thread as An Example and suggest that the non-commercial sales section be reserved for Canadian sellers only. Like, add that to the rules.
There are quite a lot of phishing and fake cheque scams from offshore sellers (not that this is one) but moreover Jesse makes A Very Good Point about logistics.
This kind of localization policy is standard on classified (e.g. Craigslist).

thats a very bad idea. nothing wrong with international sellers and buyers. this forum has quite a few international members. logistic issues is up to the buyer and seller to sort out not for the forum to decide. and what would you consider local since just the canadian members range from across canada and shipping a diff would be close to the same price from nova scotia to vancouver island as it would be from australia to vancouver.

I hear you Reza, and it is a drag but there is a real risk to the community here.
Fraud is a huge issue with international sellers and delica.ca would be irresponsible to not restrict this kind of activity. Anyone with experience doing classified transactions online has experienced this. Look at the bottom of every email you get from Craigslist. It says flat out avoid international sellers.
If you want to trade with Australian forum users you should actively pursue that. And you will find them uninterested in dealing with you, as I have in the past. So a secondary reason here is just saving everyone time.
I would have posted this elsewhere if there was a place but as you probably have noticed suggestions mostly fall into the black hole around here. It is important to say that I do not mean to say that the OP is not a legitimate seller.

once again i fully disagree, I have and still own a variety of vehicles, and have a variety of hobbies, I buy and sell parts and gear from all over the world, through ebay, craigslist and forums. after hundreds and hundreds of sales and purchases and trades i can count on one hand with deals that have gone bad. thats not bad at all.
I dont see the risk to the community and i personally do not wish to be moderated on who i can or cant deal with. that is just taking it too far. it is up to the buyer to take responsibility to be aware of who they are dealing with, not big brother watching over everything.

I'm with Rezdiver. I buy and sell from people all over the world for hobbies and cars. No need to ban international sales on an enthusiast website. Just use your brain.
Seems like a non-issue here anyway. Hardly any international sellers to begin with, and most of the ones who do appear get chased away by people saying they can make the same thing locally cheaper (or course they never actually do follow through...they just like to say they can)

Just as likely to get screwed within Canada as your are outside Canada........... shitty people are found everywhere, we are no exception.
Suggest cautions to more inexperienced buyers/sellers, do some research with online deals and "minimize" possibility of getting screwed.
RichD wrote:Hundreds and hundreds. Right.
couple hundred is just average hobbiest number for online transactions, might seem like lots to newbs...... I am probably 3-400, however spread over many years pre-dating the mainstream internet as we know it today.

No -because there are specialty parts you cannot find in Canada for the Delcia...
Examples that come to mind: US-Stiffening Pans the 5 Speed (USA) and Heavy Torsion Bars (more common AU?) and I would think Parts in Europe models you will not find here

jesse, they just used your post as the starting point for this new thread as you were the first to respond to the original thread. they cleaned up the OP's original thread. as it was becoming a bit off topic.

This thread has been active for over 12 hours now...long enough for whichever mod who created it to come forward and clear up the confusion. What's the deal? Who started this weird thread?

That's right Reza. I actually got a PM from RichD requesting we separate these posts from the original thread as they are off topic but felt that it is a valid topic that should be discussed so we captured the thread where it went off topic and I named it how I saw the topic going. I can change the name if you like. The topic is worth the discussion, no?
