New Project: 1984 Mighty Max Adventure Trailer

As the title says, a little kijiji-ing, and I picked up an '84 Mighty Max. It's a diesel 4x4, but the engine and trans have been pulled. All of the wiring and plumbing are intact, as are the axles.

As the only good body part is the bed, I'm going to strip it down and turn the box into a utility trailer, with removable tent, either on its own, or worked into the cap somehow.

There's not much worth saving, but both axles/differentials are there, and the interior is reasonably clean. If anyone needs/wants anything, let me know and I'll be pretty flexible on the price.

Hola

Helped with a few pu to trailer, builds, actually tear downs growing up. Fun. Breaking apart everything knowing most is going to scrap, and then the fun of cutting, beating, and welding the frame. Even the more routine jobs of painting and wiring were't that too imposing with these projects.

But we always used the existing rear axles (heavy), what do you plan to use for an axle?

I found a local-ish supplier that can do custom:

5,200 lbs is way overkill, but I can get the 6x5.5 bolt pattern, and brakes if I want. I need to spend another couple of days putting power locks in my wife's MPV, then the trailer build will start in earnest.
