ccautos.ca

Looks as though the ccautos.ca site is down? I suspected that the domain expired but the whois record shows that the domain does not expire until october.

I wonder if their webhost is having DNS troubles or did ccautos initiate this?

Either or, I wanted to check out some used parts but the site seems to be down. I think there are lots of IT savvy people on here, anybody know what is going on?

(and for the IT savvy, YES, I am using dig on my windows PC. You can have a chuckle over that, but nslookup sucks!)

DNS issue

Their ISP/host provider will resolve it.

happens to everyone who owns a site

Hmmm. I don't think so in this case. The fact you can query the subdomain www and get a result. Then they have a forwarder in place to point to ccautos.ca AND that doesn't get translated. I think the IN A record for ccautos.ca. has been blown away.

I put the IP you resolved in my hosts file for ccautos.ca and I get this:

Looks like who ever does there site is working on it?

LOL. You mean it happens to nubbish web developers who don't manage zone file changes properly.

Too funny! I've cleaned up many zone files in my day because of this.

Well, I know who the other IT folks are here now. You guys both network admins?

BTW siggurros dig is essential and I run it too. nslookup is deprecated!

I also run nmap and a few other gnu-ish tools in my windows shell.

I'm an IT Infrastructure Architect/Engineer.

Been working on a new site for a while now, things are staring to come together. Better parts listings, more sales listings and a lot more user friendly. As things come together over the next few months any positive or negative feedback would be appreciated. Thanks, Glen

I like the design of the splash page. Downtime is good publicity!
