I researched what tires could replace the cracked ones on my 1997 L400 (hasn't landed yet).
I narrowed it down to 4. Most my driving will be in the lower mainland, however I will be going off road once in a while.

Firestone Destination A/T 235/75R 15
Firestone Destination M/T 235/75R 15
Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac 235/75R 15
Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S 235/70R 15

I vote for Duratrac's

I'd vote duratracs as well. Avoid m/t tires if you're not offroading much as they are not great for road use.

Goodyear Wrangler Territory from canadian tire. i believe it has the same tread compound and carcas as the duratracks. half the price.

Shop around too. Fountain Tire on marine price matched and beat even the lowest US price I could find after taxes.

Great info guys thanks!!! I face this dilemma right now. I am in the process of upgrading suspension which will leave me out of alignment and with more room then my little 265/70R16's need so tire upgrade and alignment is the plan.
I then found out that the tires Kal Tire put on when I first made it road worthy were 4ply.. My truck needs 6 minimum. Opps. so they will credit $75 per tire to me. Still feel burned. I am thinking of Wildcat Sport 6ply in the 75R because it is what I had and was great for a low key name brand or 10ply R75 BF TAKO. But the BF suck in snow I hear??? Your info is perfect timing as I am thinking of checking these out. Any complaints on the BF's? (in the snow and slush?) Not wanting a noisy hard ride per-say.

I have no complaints with the BFG A/T's in snow. They're great tires in my opinion but I know that others would say the Duratracs are better.

X2 on the Territories, although I'm sure the Duratracs are skookum too. I've had my Territories for a while now, on and off road and I have no complaints.

FWIW, neither tire will fit into the spare "basket" under my L400, so I got a smaller-sized non-off-road tire for that purpose, as the old Japanese one I had there was the original 15-year-old one and starting to crack with age.

Not the ideal drivetrain choice for a spare to run a tire of different diameter, but for temporary use its better than nothing.

I went with the General Grabber AT2s in 265/70/15. On stock suspension with no hammers, I get a little rubbing at full lock, mostly in reverse.

They are excellent in the snow, took them offroad through about a foot with no issue.

They are cheap as chips from the tire rack too.
