The fan clutch work less and less efficiently over time and can be the causes a lot of overheating problems that sometime result in head gaskets and major engine repairs.
A common cause of a bad fan clutch is the silicon oil leaking out of them.
There is one things you can do - add oil.Use only silicone oil 2000cst to 10000cst and about 20ml.You can used silicone oil for rc toys cars viscosity 10000cst.Easy to find on Ebay or
any hobby store.
Here a video.I know it's for Landcruiser,but it's excatly the same for a 4D56,Strada,Delica or Pajero.
I did that on my Strada and the temperature is lower and more stable.
Really easy to do.

Oil Silicon: 08816-03001 is what I read off the package. Good find, Strada. Two questions I have is the engine didn't sound like a diesel. Could this be an issue? Also, what about replacing the seal itself? If the old oil has leaked out should the seal not be replaced?

when should this repair be done?
-as far as im concerned, if the fan stops when the engine stops, the fan is in good working order.
-if it keeps spinning, then you have a problem.
correct me if i'm wrong, just want to inform people when this might be a necesity

Sure that if your fan clutch is leaking,it's better to change the seal.But over time,silicone oil is like any other oil,the viscosity change a bit and it accumulates impurities.
So it's a good idea to refresh the stuff.For the sound,yes the fan is roaring a bit more up to 80-100km/h,depending how much oil you have added,and then the sound decrease.
And it's perfect for diesel or gasoline engine.If you respect the instruction,all should work well.And anyway,if you pour too many oil into,just remove a bit of oil with a syringe,for measuring how much 'ml' you remove.
And it's true that if the fan continues to rotate a bit after the engine is stopped,there is a problem.
But it can be stiff and needing a little adjustment.
All depend of the working temperature of your engine.

Hi guys, I'm attempting to refill my clutch as my fan spins long after the engine is off,with the temp gauge reading about half. .
This post didn't explain how much fluid to add. I added 18ml into the clutch after cleaning and draining it for a few hours as I couldn't find a definite answer. This seems to have not been enough as it still spins.
I've read elsewhere, on other forums and found on delica. Uk that about 50-60ml of silicone oil from 3k cst - 10kcst should be added. I'll try bringing my fluid level up to this amount and let yall know how it goes! http://www.mdocuk.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=24136
