Headlight switch on turn signal wand

I wondered if anyone has dismantled (and successfully reassembled) the headlight switch on the turn signal wand.

Strange things are happening and I think it might be a bad connection in the light switch.

Thanks in advance!

Jamie

Sorry false alarm. I just had an insight. I couldn't possibly be the switch. No need to tear it apart.

Okay Jamie... you've peaked my interest. What are you trying to fix?

I had the combo switch out but never the end cap. My issue was with the wiper side intermittent switch. cleaned the contacts on the base of the switch and all is currently well.

To answer your question Falco - I have this weird issue with the electronic display on the heater. When the headlights are "on", the display iis dim, just like it should be. When the lights are "off", the display flickers between bright (which should be normal) and dim. And lately, it's spending more time in the dim setting regardless of headlight setting. The heater controls function 100%, but I just can't see a thing when driving in the daytime. All things considered, this is a nice-to-fix, but it is still driving me crazy.

So what does this have to do with the switch and wand? It seems like if I flick the headlights on, the display goes bright just at the instant the lights come on, but the goes dim again. I thought maybe there was a bad connection, and cleaning it might help. That was my thinking at the time of the first post.

Then as I was running and pondering a moment later, I realized that couldn't be possible because if there was a bad connection in the lights, I would expect to see blinky headlights (and I don't).

Sorry for the long story!

No worries, Jamie, that's what Delica Canada is here for ~ it's all about learning. Thanks for sharing this. When you figure it out could you please post it in this thread so we all know?

Falco.
