I remember from my wheelin' days the 4x4 toy run is coming up. I think it is the first week in December or November I can't remember exactly. Is anyone here interested in making a Delica presence? Is someone here on bc4x4 or in one of the clubs to know when it is again? I tried searching for it but cant come up with much.

Keep in mind the toy run is NOT an off-road trip. The last year that I did it, the route was guilford mall to bear creek park. After that everyone went wheeling.

Hi Noel

We'd be there for a S Island delica show for the toy run, as long as it doesn't interfere with our trip. When you have some details of time, date, whatever, post it and we'll decide if we can do it.

Ok, got ahold of my old 4x4 club. No one has heard a definate yes or no. The Sasquatch 4x4 club usually organizes it and I guess no one has said anything yet but it has always been the first Sunday in December, usually starting at 10am from guilford mall parking lot. Maybe we could all meet for breakfast somewhere for around 8 then head over there together. I will try and find out if it is happening for sure, just keep that date in mind.

Basically like a parade. Same idea as the motorcycle toy run. Everyone brings a toy, then it is a massive convoy of a couple hundred vehicles from point a to point b, all on city streets, drop your toy off then they have a brunch set up or something but usually me and my friends would head out and do our own thing. More of a social gathering than anything. They also had a judging contest for people who decorated their trucks and stuff.

Why would you need to decorate a Deli? They're already so beautiful!! Oh Wait, maybe that is for people who aren't lucky enough to own a deli, they could decorate their truck to resemble one!

I think it would be great to have a Delica presence in a convoy like this, especially for a good cause. A dozen Delicas lined up would make for some great visibility for JDM vehicles.

Wouldn't it be great if this happened, and we all ran a biodiesel blend? Our exhaust would smell a lot better as we idled down the roads. Eric, let us know if you hear about the toy run happening. I'll be there with bells on. (figuratively of course. I won't decorate my van unless everyone else does!)

Ok, found out today. It is December 2nd, 9:30am at Guilford mall in the Sout East parking lot by Walmart. If everyone wants to meet somewhere first and drive there together that would be fine. I am not sure on breakfast since we would have to be leaving coquitlam by 9 at the latest to get there, which would mean breakfast at 7 or so and I dont think I can drag my kids up at that time. I say meet at Braid Skytrain station for around 8:30 for a meet and greet then leave at 9 for the mall then go for Lunch or let the kids play at the park after (assuming it is pouring rain and freezing cold).
Now the bad part. Apparently it has been a problem the last few years with the RCMP showing up and handing out MVI notices to every vehicle that drives through the entrance so the showing there has been dismal. I am not sure how true this is (I know it was a problem the second year it was put on) so be forewarned.
And remember, bring a brand new, un-wrapped toy for the hamper, and they say try to target older kids as every year they get hundreds of teddy bears and baby toys but not much for 5 and up and early teen.
Post up if you are planning on going or have any other thoughts/ideas.

I think the RCMP part might have put a damper on things a bit. I have been pullled over 3 times since July....all at normal seatbelt & speed traps. Never got a ticket - but just routine check because I'm sitting on the "wrong" side of the vehicle (well, that's my opinion anyway). Just check my insurance & docs etc - then send me on my way. But I don't appreciate the extra attention.
Anyway - how about nominating a specific location to meet with address so we can google / mapquest it - and time. Will be a bit rough after my company Xmas party, but it's a good cause and good idea - let's drum up some interest!!!!!!

They also might be taken you to the side in spead/seatbelt traps just to see if your hiding anything in the car,me and my dad get pulled over all the time in the suburban cozz we could be hiding something.
