There sure has been alot of spam lately. Seems everytime I check the recent posts I get to learn about cell phones, airbag lights and any other crap. Has our lovely little sight been hi-jacked by some spam vomitting robot. Just wondering. Any steps we can do to avoid this happening here or is it just a fact of life?

Mods/admins can set it up so that new users cannot post links until the 10 post limit has been hit.

There has been an increase by a little, we should come up with a new question. Also, I'm not on as much at the moment so some of the spammers are getting through, we'll work on this, in time.

Okay, I've changed the question. This ought to cut down on the spambots for a bit.

Newer spammers are people running massive spambot sites, humans perform the login, but then the bot goes ahead and posts.

Sort of like Warcraft gold miners.

There's quite the psychology to spammers ~ it's like social studies ~ watching the behavioural pattern, where they come from, typically from south east Asia with the occasional Soviet. Lately there seems to be a trend of North American, Canada and the States. Canada seems to be Toronto or Churchill. From the States I see Detroit, Washington State, L.A., Kansas, occasionally New York ~ our thread sample, "Alstonhng", posted from Atlanta, Georgia. Interesting how he found this thread, great timing. Places in Europe are becoming popular, northern England, Scotland, Paris, Germany, strangely not Greece.

People. Do you that there are many ways to mask the original ip including free VPN software?

It should be ignorant to think the ip addresses that register here are the originating one's.

Common software and workaround prevails here sir typing in red
