deep cycle battery

So I am doing some research on what deep cycle battery to get for my house power and I am leaning towards the optima blue top, can anyone give me another option or is this a solid choice. Main requirments are a mounting positions and reserve capiacity .

You may want to look @ Odyssey. They are smaller for the same capacity and about the same price. Checkout www.saskbattery.com/ as they will deliver to your house for 'free' and have most sizes in stock.

I am very happy with my Odyssey; although I don't camp with it, I have run it with pretty hard drawdowns a number of times and it has never given me a lick of trouble.

The only suggestion I'd have if you wanted to go that route, is go to the Sears auto store in Bellingham just South of the border and pick up a Sears DieHard Platinum battery . They are a re-badged Odyssey for US$199 instead of CAD$320 up here at Polar Battery (last time I checked prices).

That plus a tankful of cheap(er) diesel and a few bricks of cheese will help pay for a day trip down there 8-)
