Update in Red
I require some assistance in installing a 3in1 Glowshift Gauge in my 1997 L400 series 1 (4M40)

http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/3in1-Ram ... ature.aspx

My questions are:

1. Is it better to install the EGT probe pre or post turbo (I've installed EGR removal blanking plates).
Glowshift tech support recommends pre turbo
2. Where should I install the Boost sensor?
On the intake manifold
Any ideas exactly where on the manifold?
3. I want to use the temperature sensor for the transmission, what would be the best place for it?
tie a "T" into the transmission cooler line

Thanking you ahead of time.

Paul

Rather than start yet another new thread I'm reviving this one because it relates to my question.

After removing my EGR valve I installed an EGT probe by threading it right into the fairly think stainless blanking plate I bought, like so...

My question is, with this probe location, what max temp should I set on my Auber gauge? I assume the idea is to warn a driver of exhaust temps going beyond a safe level - so what IS that safe level? When I installed it a few years ago I arbitrarily set the "alarm" to somewhere around 800 degrees - so the little blue light goes off fairly often on hills etc. I'd like to have the alarm go off a little in advance of temperatures that actually warrant my concern.

Thanks. :-D
