Okay everyone, I've picked the date as 20 October. That's a Saturday. Previous discussion was at http://www.delica.ca/forum/calgary-meet ... -1122.html including photos of some of the scenery you can expect.

To refresh your memories, we will do some (mild) offroading, then have a picnic beside the Ghost River while having a wonderful view of the Rocky Mountains.

We will meet at 10:00 AM in Cochrane at the Tim Hortons. It is a block south and west of the intersection of Hwy 1A and 22 at the west end of Cochrane. In Mapquest http://www.mapquest.com just enter "Tim Hortons" and "Cochrane" and "AB"

From Cochrane we will go west about 15 km on 1A, then north on the Forestry Trunk Road about 25 km, and from there we head west on a dirt road for about 15 km until we drop down the hill to the flood plain of the Ghost River. From there we head west along the river for 5 km or more.

If you have CB or FRS or ham radios, bring them. We can use them go be able to keep in touch with each other while driving.

Just to add a "purpose" and "justification" to doing this, there is a good chance our little convoy will be the subject of a training search for the air search and rescue group I'm part of (depends on the weather and whether we can schedule flying for that day.) So you will be doing a good deed in addition to having fun.

Are Pajeros allowed?

I think if I'm allowed to bring my 88 Bronco II you should be able to bring you Pajero! Thanks for setting this up and the invite Ruminante but I will be in Kitchener so won't be able to make it. Next get together I should be able to attend with my head held high as I will have my "new" Delica.

By the way if anyone is interested in a nice Bronco II I will have one for sale in about a month. Has some rust but runs great and is fully functioning including the 4x4, A/C and power equipment. I was planning on fixing the rust this fall until I was struck with Delicalust!

They are close enough, sure. But your info on the left of the screen says you have a Chamonix, so why not bring it?

Of course anyone is welcome. I'm even thinking of inviting someone who drives a Ford Exploder -- hey we need firestarter, right?

Sorry for the late reply, but I wasn't sure I was going to be able to make it. (The 20th is my wife's birthday!!!)

Sorry guys.....money is tight and its 14hrs of driving round trip, but i might be comming thru in Dec on my way to Van, so we could meet for coffee or something.

Hi everybody,

Haven't been on here for a month-and-a-half, got some catching up to do! Can't join you for the full excursion because we're painting and moving this weekend, but I'd like to do the run out to Tim's with my son to grab a coffee and say hi. See you at 10!

Good news is I finally got my new van back, and it runs great! (Thanks Wayne) I'll bring it out tomorrow.

Bummer How did you miss us??? A couple of us were there by 9:45, and none of us left until 10:30. There were 4 Delicas, would have been hard to miss. Is there a second Tim's in Cochrane? If so, we were at the one near 22 and 1A to the west of town.

And yes, we had a wonderful time. Posting with photos to come.

I got a flat tire and got into some trouble with my wife, but it's worth it.

Next weekend I'm going back to the same place with my family and I'm going to try to have a late birthday celebration for my wife there... Hope it works...

Thanks Fabio. It was easy to organize, I had a wonderful time too. Will have to give the search and rescue crews a hard time for having trouble finding us.

I'll post a story and photos in the member trips sections as soon as I have a chance. Got great photos.

Gio, just had a thought ... were you in Canmore or Cochrane? I used to get them mixed up all the time. We were in Cochrane.
