L400 Rotors

Post by prairiefire »

Just curious as to what are the best A/M front rotors to use. I've gotten various quotes from the usual suspects. I'm wondering how aftermarket rotors are holding up for people out there. I don't want to drop a couple hundred $$$ on junk that'll wear out in a year.

thanks in advance.

Happened to pick up two sets of rotors in past few days from local parts places (edit: as mentioned up-thread: Maximum Overdrive, Rising Sun, CC Autos have L400 brake parts in stock for sure.). On one set I noticed that the machining provided no venting path from the inside to the outside of the rotor. The machining was otherwise really nice. Someone commented that this obstruction could catch mud offroad but also reduces cooling (i.e. wearing faster). Pricing was similar between the two.

Point being that they are not all exactly the same.

Care to share some part numbers?

So where did you get your "preferred" rotor from. I'm putting together my parts tomorrow. My front calipers are dragging so I need to get on it ASAP.

Thanks in advance.
