Oil in the air intake

Replaced the turbo and while apart cleaned up all intake passage-ways; intake manifold was so lovely! Put everything together and had an exhaust leak, so I took it all apart again... and oil coating the intake passage-ways again (after only a few days). This is oil in the metal intake tube, the one bolted to the top of the intake manifold. That's right from the air filter - the only other in is the hose from the valve cover (is that the pcv?). Anyone have oil coming through that hose into the intake? Thoughts?

Hi Redmond,
It's coming from the blow-by hose, the one from the valve cover to the intake pipe ~ I have the same issue. You can install an oil trap or "catch-can", although I'm not sure about all the pros and cons of the device. One thing is in time that oil will build up on the walls of the intake, which consequently will inhibit the air flow by just a little bit ~ slightly less air to the turbo. So what do you think? A periodical cleaning of the pipes? Oil trap? There are a few threads about this issue that you can find with either of the two search engines but still a good point to bring up, none the less.

Thanks - I just found the catch-can idea and might do that... not sure.
The egr I've been meaning to do; just haven't yet.
