Just curious as to everyone's experience with Rocky Mountain Imports? Without going into details I would like to hear peoples thoughts.

Thank you so much.

One important thing with RMI is to clearly state whether you are pricing or ordering. Sometimes people have asked the price for a specific part, in a way that when they have hung up the phone they think they have ordered the part but RMI thought they were just shopping and not yet purchasing.

All in all John & Cameron are good people to deal with, from my experience.

Falco.

P.S.: The reason I brought this up is because of a call from John (of RMI) on this subject, in fact I just got off the phone with him, great guy. FC

Ordered about $400 in parts from RMI in a couple of different orders over the last 8 months. Very happy with their service. Fast shipping, prompt and courteous on the phone and email. Don't go by the website, as a lot of the stuff they stock is not listed. They price matched the transmission mounts I ordered, gave me a price break when I ordered more of a certain part (filters and such). They mostly sell genuine Mitsubishi or Japanese made OEM equivalents that I'm willing to pay extra for, but also have alternatives that are cheaper aftermarket versions if you wish. They bring a couple of containers from Japan per month, so if there is something extra rare that you need to find, they can get that for you too but you usually have to wait a couple of weeks. Thumbs up from me.

I went to pick up a oil filter, my first time dealing with RMI. I had called ahead and he said it would be around 36$. When i got there he came to the door with it and I handed over 40$ cash, he said "that's enough" took it and closed the door. Only time I've delt with him. Meanwhile I got a 3-4 from Coombs for 25$ each I believe was the price. Felt a little taken advantage of, especially as a friend contacted RMI prior to me coming out letting him I was new to the delica world.

RMI has been great for me while travelling. They are by far the easiest parts store I've talked to over the phone. I've had 2 items shipped to me while travelling through the states and both transactions went smoothly. I paid a bit more than I would have at other shops but for the service it was well worth the extra.
