Your Opinion Please- Oil Change Interval

Hey everybody. Just wondering if I could get your opinion on something, or rather a what would you do and why.

I changed my oil last on March 18 and have driven about 5669 KM on a change of Amsoil Fully Synthetic 15w40 and a new SureFilter. We are leaving on August 1 for Tofino - about 1400km one way, so 2800 - 3000 km round trip. I am also getting a tune up and a few adjustments made at Coombs while staying on the island.

Here is my question: Should I change the oil before or after the trip? Would it be better for the tuning and fiddling at CCA to have fresh oil? Would it be bad to go about 8000 - 9000 km on an oil change?

I just am kind of leaning towards letting it go until I get back, but wondering if it is the right thing to do. Any advice?

Craig

My changes always happen between4000 and 10000km , if I'll be doing a lot of freeway driving (3+ hrs at a time) on a trip I'll change before I go

Based on nothing, I do about 10,000 kms on full synthetic.

It never really hurts anything to change it out, but it wouldn't be the end of the world.

Miss Lil' Bitchi uses Liqui-Moly, I change it and the filter every 5,000 kliks or every six months, give or take. I rotate the tyres every second or third change. If I was at 4,500 kliks and I was going to take a drive to Leduc, I'd change it before leaving.
