Fuel economy question

Hi all,
I'm wondering what you guys get for fuel economy in your pajero.
I have a SWB 2.8 diesel automatic 1996. I get like 400k per tank IF IM LUCKY. granted I live in a high wind province of Manitoba which certainly reduces milage if driving against the wind.
I worked that out to around 13L/100km which is pretty terrible.
What do you guys get in yours? Is mine normal or am I leaking fuel?

I am running about the same. Getting about 400-450 km per tank. Not what I was hoping for, but I got Coombs to fiddle with my IP and they made it put out a little more juice. That is the trade off.
Do you notice lots of black smoke (unburnt fuel) when you are driving coming from your exhaust?

Mine is a 94 SWB mostly highway miles averaging 2400 rpm, so a little heavy on the foot.
I get 450 + per tank all the time, a little more if I slow down a bit, I would never run it dry so I am not sure how far one could go. Here's hoping that's good.

Ok so I'm not too far off then.
As for smoke I'm not sure I can't really see much exhaust whilst driving.
I drive at pretty much no more than 90km/h 100 tops. That's bouts 2250rpm. The wind out here can really make the mileage a lot worse. Even in my Toyota yaris which I would get avg 600km/tank hwy on van isle, I get avg 500 out here, once I even got only around 430 because I was driving into a really strong wind the whole time. Its really amazing what the wind will do.
Though the other thing is I spend a good 5 to 10 min warming it up because I've been having some stalling issues which are less likely to occur whilst the engine is at full temperature. I think its the front fuel injection pump seal according to a post I made on here and speaking with the folks in coombs.
Taking it to a guy this week to get that changed out as I don't have the skill to do it myself.

I have a 1995 SWB with the 5 speed manual. It gets 30 mpg highway and 24/26 around home. Winter drops to the 20 range with more idle time.

All summer I average 10.3-10.8L/100kms, In a 91 LWB 5spd 2.5 with 35" tires. I'm very light on the throttle and keep the rpm's anywhere from 2450-2800. The peak torque on my 2.5 occurs at 2400rpm so that ideally where I would like to sit, but with my gearing I would be a hazard on the highway lol.

I get 350-400km to the tank as well in my 95 LWB L400. Used to be better but got worse and smokier pretty quick after purchase...

Oh wow doesn't the LWB have close to 70L capacity?
I'm glad my mileage isn't too far off. Thanks guys.

94 LWB 5spd 2.8L. I got 10L/100km in the summer. Now that winter is here, I'm up to 11 or so. I get 500km with a 1/4 tank left. 11L/100km (about 21 mpg) is reasonable in my mind for a 7 seater, diff locked (center and rear) 4x4 family machine! :)

I don't remember exactly how many km's/tank, but usually 16L/100km for my 94 lwb l400. Thank god I hardly ever use diesel anymore. WVO's the way to go.

94 SWB 2.8 5 speed. The most I have got is 580km on a tank before I chickened out. So about 10L/100k. Not to shabby. Its mostly highway 100-110km cruising.

With my '94 LWB with 5 speed manual, oversize tires, and 80l tank I was getting around 750kms/tank 80% city 20% highway. That would be really pushing it though, one time I filled up and it took 79.9l
Once my IP started leaking I was only getting around 670km/tank.
I figured I was around 8l/100km. Not bad for such a big vehicle.
