Hi everybody!
My Spacegear Chamonix 1999, PD6W 0501188, recently got a problem in gearbox to
have slight shocks when shifting the gear from 1->2, 2->3. and also a little tremor when car starts to move.

I was told that the cause may be the sparkplugs and cables. when opened them found out that
sparkplugs have been really done. Changed only the sparkplugs, cause couldn't find the cables here in Armenia to replace.
the symptoms seemed to be gone the first days then started again.

Do you really think that the reason is sparkplugs and cables?

I also have checked the transmission fluid. the color and condition looks ok!
Before testing drove the car for a wile to get the fluid 70-80C. and shifted selector lever to all positions R,D,2,L.
The fluid is on the top of level gauge almost to the wire..
But the ridiculous thing was the fluid is the same Hot Upper Limit wen the gearbox and fluid is cold, checking early in the morning. Should it be so? or at between Cold-lower and Cold-upper limits?
May it be that the transmission fluid is overfilled? (I bought the car from Japan two months ago, the fluid was put there).
I also red that if the gearbox oil is overfilled it may damage the gearbox as bad as when its on Lowlevel.

Do you think its possible that the problems might be also form overfilled fluid? (when the car arrived the first 1000-1500kms
it was running without these symptoms)

Well I'm just going through transmission problems myself and have learned a lot. Spark plugs? So this is a gaser?

Anyway, rough shifting could be your throttle position sensor (TPS). It effects when the transmission shifts up. If the shift points are on the higher end of RPMs then the shifts will be jerky. You can find out how to adjust your TPS on the forums. Its pretty straight forward. I advise 0.75 Volts as a nice setting.

Otherwise it could be the accumulators. These regulate the oil pressure which activates the different clutches in the transmission. They make for smoother shifts. Its unlikely that they are all failing. So I'd definitely look at the TPS.

Regarding the oil level. Drive the car on the road to get the fluid warmed up. Shift the lever through all its gears. Apply parking break. Shift into Neutral. Check fluid with the car running. The car must be running because the oil will drain out of the torque converter if the oil pump is not running. This will over state your oil level. When you pull out the oil gauge wipe it clean, reinsert and pull out. I find the most effective way is to flip the gauge over when youve pulled it out. One side is often completely smeared with oil, while the other has a clean level line.

Yes its petrol engine, and it mounted also for methane gas, as the 90% of the cars in Armenia are.

In the forum http://www.delicaclub.ru some user advised me to "reinstall" the computer, and drive again
by the recommended sequence way so the computer will get another "correct" impulses for its
setting data base adjustment.
supposedly after switching off the accumulator during previous fixing (mounting methane gas devices), the car was driven
some intensive or aggressive way so computer got another settings..

I did it. after took the accumulator cables away and switched ON again I drove the first km-s by the way it was recommended, using a petrol fuel. it was ok, no any jerks. then I switched into methane fuel and it was running again OK until some 80km and then it got jerky again...
- We'll lets say its from the TPS or accumulator, then might these symptoms disappear after "restarting" the computer, and then appear again?

And I have some questions regarding your tips (ist my first car ever and I'm just 1.5 month old driver, so questions might sound a bit odd ;)
1. I'll try to check the TPS. I red in some article that you must clean IAC valve and adjust minimum idle speed, do you really think its necessary?
2. how should I check the accumulator? when the ignition is turned ON the arrow goes up 12V, doesn't it mean ok?

I think we have a language barrier here. The accumulators I'm talking about are contained within your transmission - you wont be working on them or "disconnecting" them - they are deep in the guts of your transmission.

I'm not familiar with the gas engines nor anything regarding computers on a Delica...

All I know is that an improperly configured TPS will lead to high RPM shifts, which would feel "jerky"
