Christmas is coming, we have too much snow... time for a meet. And I need to get the beast out a bit more. Who's up for a drive?

Where we going?
Waiparous is open. You just need decent tires as there are a few icy sections on the main trail.
Maclean Creek is closed for winter.

I'm open to whatever. I'm new to the area so I'll leave it up to you guys! However, I do happen to live right around the corner from Peter's.

Peters works for me... As far as 4wheeling goes I'm a total newbie for that but I would give it a shot if it does not kill my stock van

Waiparous would be a good place as there are many trails well suited to stock height Mitsu's
I know the area quite well....the only real challenge is the common crossing at the river, thankfully there a few exit points above and below the common trail route.
Minimums for recommended recovery gear is:
30-foot tow strap , properly safety rated shackles, shovel. I have this already.
Winches are almost never needed as long as no-one gets the urge to show-off doing something they shouldn't....like crossing a river at its deepest point, treading over areas that no-one has touched.

I'm up to try pretty much anything. I'm new to the 4x4 thing as well. However, I won't be changing any fluids... I'm what you call lazy. I have a hard enough time keeping the beast clean. I think I'm free next Sunday

If you're worried about water then check your differentials and see if you have a breather hose running up under the body or if your diffs have a vent.....
Chances of getting water in your diffs is extremely low as the river is only a 8-12 inches deep at the crossing. Far below the top of the diffs.

Looks like Sunday this week and pretty much any night next week. I usually get home from work around 5:30.
