v6 transmission service. Same trans as diesel?

I'm going to do a service on my transmission and need a bit of info. I have the V6 model, will a pan gasket and filter from a diesel, fit the V6 transmission? Do I just get a gasket/filter for a Montero or does someone have the PN I can use for them?
I also want to do a "flush" or get all the fluid out, not just the 3-4L in the pan. So I drain the pan, take it off, take off the filter and then how do I get the rest of the fluid out? (from the torque converter etc)
Or does anyone know a trustworth place in abbotsford that will flush a tranny for a decent price? I don't trust the "special" people that work at the 5 minute oil change type places.

As far as I am aware the transmissions are identical. They are the same as on the Montero 3.5 Litre, but not the same as the 3.0 litre.

Part of the risk with getting the "flush" apparently is that it is not good for these transmissions and can cause damage. The consensus is usually to drain the pan, and refill, and do this each time you change the oil, leaving the fluid in the torque converter. I have seen some directions on running it to empty the torque converter as well, but I don't know how good of an idea that is.

Doesnt the oil drain out of the torque converter when the engine is stopped - the oil pump has to be running to keep the oil in there...?

I recently did my own ATF flush - its not too difficult but you will need a couple of assistants. I posted a thread on how to do this...
