This morning I use the 4 WD selection lever to engaged the 4LLc and drove for 1 min on it, stop the van and try to changed to 4H and find the lever completely free play. Not grabbing anything.
Living out in the wild any help will be appreciate.

Try putting the transmission in neutral, then moving the lever.

Also try reversing. It may be that the lever has come decoupled from the transmission? (Just a guess).

I tried both with no luck It could be like you mentioned lever decoupled from the transmission. Where to look and it is easy to fix?

Yes they certainly can jump out. If that's what's happened to yours, you can remove the rubber boot from around the Transfer Stick, remove the bolts holding the cover plate to the Transfer Case, lift the stick out and then place it back down into the gate. All from inside the cab and under 30 mins. The selector fork in the Transfer Case floats betwen two compression springs on the selector shaft, that's how it sometimes gets out of where it should be. It's a common Mitsubishi Super Select thing. Hopefully your case is nothing more serious.

If you don't have a login there, I recommend one as they have had Delica's for years before we got them in North America.

So, it sounds like you need to remove the boot from around the shifter, then undo the bolts that are there and see if the shifter is disconnected or broken at that point. From the sounds of it, both have happened to people. You can apparently replace it with a Pajero lever or another Delica lever if it broke, or reconnect it if it disconnected.

I Posted also in the Aussie club and I got this answer "yes the transfer stick can pop out of the gate. And yes the transfer stick has also been known to snap the ball off at the bottom if it gets handled roughly. The quick fix is to remove the shift knob, then the boot around the stick then undo the bolts holding the plate onto the transfer assembly and withdraw the lot. If it's broken the ball off you'll need a new stick or a good welder and a magnet to lift the broken piece out, if it's only popped out simply put it back in the gate and reverse the disassembly steps."
I worked on it this morning and the ball was broken. I did move the slider with a big screw driver to AWD. Now i need to find a used or new stick.
This piece look like is been built weak.

That is crazy weak!

Does anyone knows if the $ WD selection lever stick is the same as a shogun/pajero?

According to the group down in Oz, it is the same.

So far no luck to find a Super 4WD selector lever stick.
I am thinking to if is possible to get it weld I wonder if anyone knows a good welder or do welding.

Does the diameter need to be so small? would it work if the shaft diameter was bigger?

If yes I would find a piece of tube that just fits over it (even if you have to drill the diameter up). Metal supermarket sells cut off scrap with lots to choice from.

It should be an easy weld if you could sleeve it and would fix the issue in the future...plus it would be an improvement in design.

Great idea! I think it would be Ok if the diameter is bigger only the ball fit in a slot . I will have to wait until I go down in the big city to find such a item. No much choice in Gold Bridge.

You could also find a pipe close and split it then you could get some more weld in there (should not need it)
