Check out my advert for a camping set up I created last year:

This unit was towed to Oregon and back last summer, works great. For those dry-campers out here, this arrangement is near perfect. Selling now to outfit truck (tent goes onto canopy of truck, gear in truck bed).
Located on Vancouver Island.

Nice I like it. Did you design/build it?

I built it with some carpenter help from Artacoma and his garage-full of tools, from a modification on a design by Compact Camping Concepts (
http://compactcampingconcepts.com/). Their design for the box was too small, the box was the wrong-way-around, and it wasn't tall enough to get the tent high enough off the ground for my liking. It was also on a much smaller trailer, with no room for other things.
As I had a SWB Pajero, the intent was to get all the camping things out of the Pajero, thereby freeing up room in the Pajero for passengers or ready-use items. A fully packed vehicle, I mean right to the roof, doesn't make too enjoyable of a trip if the majority of one's time is spent packing/organising/coordinating/re-packing the gear. I much prefer the idea of setting up camp, unhitching it from the tow vehicle, and then having the tow vehicle available to do some trail exploring.

I'll be bringing the trailer to the meet tomorrow (

Trailer is now sold, along with my favourite tent. It was fun while it lasted!
