Looking to give my Paj a new sister L300

So after some talking, to convince my wife

, I'm thinking of adding to the family in the form of a L300

. I love my 94 Pajero and have had alot of work done to it so far. But my problem is finding the time to work on it as I need to get back and forth to work....so my plan is to get a L300 Late 93 or up with 100,000-150,000k from auction and do the all the compliance and maintenance work myself. I enjoy doing the work but don’t like doing it in a time crunch. So the plan is to use the More powerful Paj for the summer towing our boler trailer and the L300 in the winter leaving 6 months of down time for each machine for Mods/Maintenance work

.
Have chosen the L300 over the L400 for the styling and price difference. So the hunt will soon begin in a couple months.
Good Idea??

Nice ones at auction are getting pretty hard to come by. Like in the last 3 months there have only been 6 grade 4s that have sold - prices for these are higher too. You might be better off buying one that's already here.
Then there are these . . . . Yikes! Look at the size of those turn-signals. From 1998 on the regulations changed and bull bars were no longer allowed on new cars (same time as the series 2 L400s)

oops!
It feels incongruous with the rest of the design to me, like lipstick on a pig.
I don't have L300 credibility anymore though - I've warmed to the L 400s - Especially the power/AWD/comfort/front crumple zone (besides my legs that is). It sure makes the soccer moms jealous when I drop my kids off a school - because after all, it is an awesome mini van.
On the upside, L300 purists can still get a 15yo L300.

There are still quite a few that are grade 3.5 at auction my main thing is no rust...and I dont want to spend 7-10000 to get one thats already here

if possible I wonder if one off a older delica would fit on still?

I doubt an older model bullbar would mount without some modifications as that bumper sticks out further tan previous models.
You don't need to spend $7000-10000 anymore to get one here, you can buy a perfectly good one for around $4000 now.

Yeah there are a few for that price on here, have not ruled out getting one from here...will just have to see what is the best deal when and if the time comes

Ok so my head is starting to hurt with decisions lately!. lol, after alot of looking around on this site and other gathering delica info I was surprised to learn that the LWB L400 has the same interior length and the L300 and they both have about 3' more interior length than the LWB 4door Paj. Some say length is not what is important

but I guess its the cab over design of the L300 which makes it soooo deceiving.
I will say the cab over design does bother me a little on the safety side but not enough to change my mind. We currently have a 17' boler trailer that we have been pulling behind the Pajero it has to work at it pretty hard on the hills but can manage. Although long trips in the future again may not happen because of this, so we will probably stay close to home.
So now after talking to my wife about the L300 we ran across others that have done crazy cross country trips and expeditions that we can only dream about for now! money/time off from work....but very cool. So now we are debating going with a L300 with a roof top tent and making and camping trailer(possibly a 4 or 5x8)that would be outfitted with a sink, stove, cooler, power supply and maybe even a hot water supply. Have to find a way to justify selling the boler! lol. Would a L300 take all this ok?
And with the option of a sleeping area in the back of the delica is apealing for the future if we have kids....but for now the dog
I hate decisions.....lol

The nice thing about the L300 is you get to the accident first a few micro seconds before the motor LOL
The L400 would be my choice if I had a Boler....Nothing you can do will make a L300 = Boler comfort....but my hitop roof and rear slideout bed comes as close as I can get it....
We manage to sleep 4 people in comfort and cook inside (unfortunately there are times that outside kitchens do not interest me (insects and Canadian Weather)...
Why not downsize the Boler to the smaller one? The 17 is a little heavy for a 4cylinder diesel (either motor)...
