Hoses and such

I'm looking at installing a new veg system that I bought, but I'm going to need a lot more in the way of hoses than what the PO needed. Is there any specific concern with veg oil? A kit I bought used a few years ago for a Westy project use expensive fuel line, and I'm wondering if that's really required for veggie oil? Can you just use vinyl tubing as it's not under pressure? I would want to use proper heater hose for the heating, but for the lines between the tank, filter, and solenoids do I need the expensive stuff? And what do people use for the filling hose?

For the fuel lines you do need diesel compatible, as it can melt lines made for gas. all gskets must be diesel compatible not gas, as gasket can quickly disolve. your veg system might get some diesel backflow into the veg on purging, or in emergency, or when you accidentally hook things up during the install (yup, its happened to a few people). also the lines and gaskets need to be alcohol compatible, just in case you run biodeiesel or add methanol to deal with excess water in the system. the stock mitsu fuel lines made after 1993 are alcohol compatible, the ones before not so. i would not cheap out on the lines, nothing worse than a burst hose line in some isolated stretch of dark road. christine
