First Campout of the year

This weekend Jordan River
It's a long way down. I would really like to get a ladder for the back so I don't have to climb over the wife for a midnight pee.
Overall it went very well for a shakedown trip. Got a few more ideas about what to bring next time. The camper interior worked great - fridge stove and water. Trying to decide if I'm going to take out the second swivel chair. I really like that chair, but it does take up a lot of interior room.

Nice interior setup. You should see if you could bolt-in/make-fit an L400 chair with a flip up seat - that might give you a bit more room but still allow to keep the chair back there.
You commented on the height of tent on top of the L300 - that's why I had mounted mine onto a small cargo trailer. It's a long way down, when you're cold and gotta pee. What brand of popup tent is that?

You mean the L400 chairs fold up? I've never seen one. The tent is an Autohome Columbus. I don't mind the height as the view is nice from up there and you avoid bears and skunks in wilderness country. But if the ladder was in the back getting in and out would be a lot easier. Because the ladder isn't long enough to hang off the tent itself I have to hook it on the rain gutter, and there isn't one in the back.

Bruce, aka Mystery Machine, did a nice post up years ago, on installing the side folding L400 chairs into an L300. Could be on Delica.ca, but likely easier to find on mdocuk.co.uk. Edit; found it on my first search, shocking;

Great setup, been a long time since I've camped on that beach; that goes back to my Westie days with the kids chilling in the top floor.
Um, you could consider a (not as cool as, but cheaper than a Delica L300 ladder):

Oh my Kevin, BC Delica, you are funny ... never accept any yellow drinks from him.
Changing the subject entirely, this is a civilised forum, the captains chair can be slid the the far back, then turn it sideways so the back of the chair rests against the wall. tilt the arms up out of the way, and makes an easy area to get in to van (and to place the porta potty at night next to to the engine wall. so civilised). If your captains chair do not slide all the way to the back of the track, remove the shiny golden metal screw that is hidden by the carpet and pierces the track, this is to prevent a chair being slid too far back from the shoulder belt position.
LUV the kitchenette.
Christine.

Thanks Christine, I tried that and yes they do slide all the way back. Even with the chair folded as you suggested it really takes up a lot of space. It's all psychological of course, but the interior just looks a lot more crowded with that extra chair. Even in my westy, if you put an extra seat in front of the kitchen it would feel cramped, and the interior is larger.
The biggest reason I like that chair is to pull up to the waterfront on a nice sunny day, open the slider and recline in the sunshine. Heaven!
