Geolander load rating question

For those of you running Yoko Geolander ATS 135/75-15 on their L400s, what is the load rating you are using? The tires come in 2 different ratings. 104"C" and 108 "B"

Lots of info on the "search" function. Lots pertaining to the size aspect etc just none that I can see on the different load ratings. They come in 2 load ratings. 104 and 108. Its usually well marked on the side near the name and size. I am curious which ones you purchased for your Delica. To the dealers as well, what are you putting on yours? Is this an info forum? Feel free to PM if you are shy.........

While I don't have that particular tire, I run a "D" or 8ply rating tire. These vans are heavy, and you want a truck tire, not a passenger car tire. The "C" tire should have a 6ply rating, and should be fine, but I would personally steer clear of the "B" tire which is probably only a 4ply rating. I run the heavier tire because I often haul heavy loads, or tow heavy trailers, and 6ply tires start to get stone punctures once they have 40% wear (60% tread left). My daily driving is also about 90% gravel roads. If I had less gravel, I could probably get away with 6ply. Keep in mind that the l400 is over 5000lbs and probably closer to 6000lbs when fully loaded. The tire should say how much weight it can handle at the max pressure. Use that as your guide.

I had geolanders 108's I believe (they are long gone now). I also went for a heavier tire and am VERY happy with the results. I went to a Nokian that is actully an "E" rating. Much stiffer but when I run them at 45ps (they can go to 80) they are great. Cal tire started me off at 50 and said drop them 5lbs at a time till you find the sweet spot. No more "Swaying to the music" or to the trailer in my case. Holds the line nice, corners great. I felt like I was driving with worn out tie-rods with the old tires. I am very curious about winter as these things are designed in Finland where they know snow. Cost more but they are a truck tire that comes with a warrenty! Very rare for a truck tire.
