My pajero's AC has never worked and with summer quickly approaching and a new baby, I'm thinking highway trips with the windows down ain't gonna work anymore. Wondering if anyone has had any good experiences with an AC shop in town that could diagnose the problem and fix or replace the whole sha-bang?
Cheers.

My experience with a Richmond Deli dealer is they would not honor warranty on a new AC compressor so check the fine print when you get your work done .
Hopefully yours isn't shot because they are expensive.
Good luck

I'm in Vancouver.
Quite a bit of rust on the old girl so really I'm looking for someone to confirm that the unit is indeed hooped and then give me a quote that confirms my suspicion that I will never have AC while driving this pajero.
Jason, what would a fella be looking at to replace the AC on a 92 pajero?

A/C work varies greatly in pricing, out here it is relatively cheap compared to he big cities. A basic leak check and recharge is under $200. As to replacing the whole a/c system, I would couldn't even venture a guess. I would recommend taking it to some one who does a/c work and have it pressure checked with nitrogen. Most shops leak test by seeing how long the system will hold vacuum, but some leaks are only under pressure, so best to specify you want it pressure tested. It is also possible the system is charged, and there is an electrical problem, or a hooped compressor.
