Here's some Back story...
I took the center console apart because it was gross and sticky and in the way.
The window switches were knocking around dangling from the wire, and eventually the made contact with some metal, shorted out and melted/frizzled. It worked a bit, if you jiggled it around sometimes.
I found a replacement in a scrap yard. It worked fine for a few hours.
Then stopped working all together. We haven't opened the windows all winter. But now it's hot out, and we need the wind!
any ideas? I checked the fuses, actually replaced them ALL, just cause I had a bunch.
The switch box looks fine, no loose wires, no burnt stuff. seems okay. the two connections i can readily access seem okay...
relays? separate fuse somewhere?
easy fix?
i'm getting no power to the windows at all. so it's not a motor or regulator. i think.

Its not the fuses behind the glove box is it? Looking at the fusebox diagrams/lists, the windows arent listed on it.

Are those the fuses you mean?
I pulled the glove compartment out and see these fuses, and i'll check them out.
I didn't even know they were there!

I checked them out, they seem to be fine, i don't have replacements, but they don't look blown...

they look like a pain in the @$$ to access. are they easily replaceable? easy to find new ones? does anyone know?

would a blown relay cause total catastrophic failure like this?

I dont think they are that hard to access, because that photo shows them being quite low, if you can reach up through the footwell i bet you could get to them. Looking at the wiring diagram, the power windows relay is fed from the "Fusible Link Box" which is shown as being attached to the + of the battery, and has 4 fuses inside, I dont recall seeing anything marked for windows on mine, and the diagram is european, but it can't hurt to poke around the battery tray area and see if anything has let its magic smoke out. Especially as the main fuse box doesnt seem to have them.

Power windows are on the same fusible link as power locks, which is found in the battery bay.

I brought the van to RADD cruisers in Duncan.
Let me just say these guys are really nice, seem very honest, and although they work mostly on rhd toyota land cruisers, will work on other imports. I had a totally positive experience with them, and highly recommend them. http://raddcruisers.ca
Turns out, the wet carpet syndrom (that most delicas have http://www.mdocuk.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12646) got as far as the fusable link on the floor. behind the dummy petal block thing.
The connection points were corroded, and once cleaned up, with some electrical connection grease, power was fully restored to my windows.
I'll post a picture of exactly where I mean later today.
and i drove around with my windows all the way open, on a beautiful day. it was nice.

All and all an easy fix once tracked down, with no cost for parts, and met a local shop with friendly, and knowledgeable people.

This is a common problem with the L300, Rob called and asked about suggestions as to what was wrong and I told him what to look for. That large plug that corrodes by your left foot (not a fusible link) can give several different symptoms but the windows stopping is the most common. Good job they have someone with knowledge that is willing to help them out for free !!!! E4 (RADD cruisers) are good guys and I send all land cruiser work to them as that's what they specialize in, shame they don`t send the Delica work to the guys that specialize in that , just call for free advice
