Spare tire...How?

So I don't have to ask this from the side of the road, how do I get the spare tire out of the basket?
You'd think this would be obvious, but I've only owned cars where the spare is lifted out of the trunk.

Cheers,

Open the tailgate
You will see a bolt head on the sill slightly off centre that conveniently is the same size as your tire wrench
Crank away and your tire will magically lower in slow motion before your very eyes

Then slide your legs under, making sure you stopped somewhere particularly messy, lift the tyre out, crushing your legs and getting it wedged between your leg and the towbar, give it a good tug to free it, scraping the skin off one set of knuckles getting it out, fall back into more mud, and swap it. I'd like to say putting it back is easier, but its not, its harder.
