I tried making it to the abandoned ski area, but once I started slipping sideways on the road I figgered the snow was still too deep yet. I really don't have the tires for it. But I did pass a couple of other 4X4s that had used snow machines to get as far as I went!

Tried a different route but ran into the same. it's actually a couple of feet deep. The wet snow doesn't give much traction and it's very heavy.

I wanted to find a spot with good views. This nice area of second growth seemed perfect, but what a road! Can she make it? I haven't used my van for any 4X4 work before this.

Chug, chug, so far so good!

She made it seem so easy! Never could do this in my Westy.

Had a few of these to cross as well.

Made it!

All set for the night. What a fantastic location; the views were stunning and the stars incredible at that elevation.

Nice. A little tougher than the old VW's for sure. Great weather for your adventure. Thanks for sharing the fun.

How do you like the roof top tent? Seems like a great idea.

I love it! With the westy interior and tent up top, it's almost got the versatility of a Westfalia but with the ruggedness and capabilities of a Delica. Next stop Baja!

Nice set up - my L300 like to climb too. I think that is when you really notice the low end torque of the diesel. Good to see you are travelling with a little company - real little. He/she seems to be enjoying the ride!

She's just a pup, but didn't like it all all. Sat in my lap shaking like she was crapping out a pineapple. Funny, cause she'll ride in my jacket on my motorcycle without much complaint. It seemed all the noise banging over the bumps is what really freaked her. Took her a couple days to really calm down.
