Delica Canada | Mitsubishi Van Club

So we took a trip to Vegreville on Sunday for the demolishion derby.

When we showed up; the parking lot was just a big mud pit. However, I noticed that there was an area of the fence to drive through, where it was nice and close to the arena and neatly cut grass. This was the area for the show cars.

I figured, hey, WTF, I will pay the 10$ to enter the van into the contest and park that much closer to the gig. :)

So we entered into the show and shine contest under the "foriegn" category. The van was disgusting, snot smeared windows and garbage all over the back....WE WON SECOND PLACE!

My wife was all excited. I went over to the reception lady to get some more info about the standings.

When I went back to my wife I told her;

"you want the good news or the bad news?"

The good news was that quite a number of people voted for us, the bad news was that we got sencond place out of two entries! LOL. We were beat by a little RHD Morris Minor.

Well regardless, we do have a nice plaque to hang on the wall. Someone should start a competition thread to show off any awards to your Deli's.

Awesome! Too bad it wasn't like a WWE wrestling belt- that would be the only thing cooler.

Hey we have to meet up again. I still have that bash plate for you. Lots more Delicas in Edmonton now.

We enter our Delica in car shows every now and then just for fun. I can't get over how much attention our little van gets.

I can't say that we've won anything, but we use the Delica as an educational tool about what these goofy little vans are all about...haha.

I'm tempted to take it to the A&W when the hotrods are parked.

Ooh. Not sure about that one. The y might get a little upity about bringing non-american muscle to the party. At least let us know when you plan on doing it so we can show up and help in the Michael Jackson "Bad" style dance off that will ensue.

My little L400 got an honorable mention as second at a local Mitsubishi S&S last summer.

Got beat out by my friends Evo 4....also a JDM.

The beaut has since been painted and the interior refurbished in a few places. Gonna try again this year.

We totally should show up one day.
They meet up at a number if different locations from 6pm until dusk.
