Electric trolling motors are great, dead batteries are not! For longer fishing trips I find I get 2-3 days from a battery if I'm conservative on the throttle and it's not windy (3 HP motor ). Last year I connected my trolling battery to the Delica charging system and in a 3 hour drive I did basically nothing to recharge my trolling battery. I monitored the current going in and it rarely got over 4 amps so it's no wonder. The voltage quickly rises on the trolling battery and any voltage drop in the wiring eliminates a faster charge. The solution is to run and inverter from the Delica supply and use a normal battery charger. This way I can get more than 10 amps for a while and 8 to 10 amps until the batteries charged. My new Odyssey takes less then 4 hours to completely charge and the old flooded battery takes a little longer.
I have 2 outlets in the back and 1 @ the step ranging from 10amp to 30 amp capacity. Now voltage drop is no problem just don't charge the trolling battery without the van running!
