Hello Everyone,
I am going to buy new tires for my Delica and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a good/ decently priced brand?? And a good place to buy them? (Was thinking about possibly driving to Bellingham for the purchase.)
** will be doing a lot of highway driving **
Thanks

Try Googling "Delica.ca" + the topic you are looking for (i.e. tires, seafoam, curtains, injector pump, etc.) before starting a new dicussion as you will probably find most of what you need.
A bunch of forums already exist with thoughts on tires. BFG AT's seem to be popular.
One thing to think about is "can I rotate the tires myself"? The outside of the front tires wear quickly on the delicas due to overcoming centrifugal force and lever arm distance from having a higher centre of gravity from trucks. This is counter intuitive as you'd think the rear drive tires would wear quicker. You'll see this if you are in Vancouver and drive a lot on twisty sea-to-sky for example. You'll want to rotate them at least twice a year so this may make it worth it to purchase them where they offer free rotation near your home.
Not an issue if you have separate winter tires as you rotate them yourself season to season.

I bought a set of 31" BFG AT at Costco. I'm pleased with them.
I thought about getting the MT tires, but they wear pretty quickly.

For winter tires I refer people to
this chart from a winter truck tire review of last year. I myself went with the Nokian Hakkapeliitta SUV 7 and I couldn't be happier. Quiet on the dry and as sticky on snow and ice as I have ever experienced... and while there are some forum members whom live farther north, I live and work in the middle of the Rockies and we know snow and ice paired with mountains. Also the brand of choice for our light duty trucks at the mine... heavy duty use the ones Nordo linked above.
I bought and installed mine with Kaltire at less than $200 per tire. They also offer free rotation.

I bought a set of Motomaster Total Terrain because they were on sale for 85 each from 165. Free instal, with rotation and tire repair at Canadian tires stores across Canada. I could Have spent a lot more, and I probably could have spent less, but these tires are great so far. They have been off road in sand and mud and performed exactly as they were supposed to. They were great in the rain that we got up here in Alberta the last month, and I'm sure they will work great in snow.

Hey guys,
Thanks for all the useful information!
I am going to drive down to Oregon and purchase them there based on some of the recommendations once I know what they can order in. I am not really looking for heavy duty winter tires as I will be doing a lot of highway driving.
Thanks again.
Danielle

get truck tires with lots ply sidewalls Delica heavy and tall sidewalls narrow track short wheel base is not fun when a tire blows out at 100km/h trust me
