I went to two key cutters today looking to get a spare key cut for the Deli. Both places said that they don't have the blanks for the key. Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone know of a reliable key cutting place somewhere in Vancouver?

You will notice that the L300 and the Mighty Max share a key, and even if the chart does not list the van, you can have them use the blank for the Mighty Max.
The blank is: Ilco X121 DC3

I went to Cambodian Tire two times to have two keys copied. Both failed.
My next stop was Home Depot on Terminal Ave. Two keys were perfect on the first try.
Ask for Mitsubishi blanks. Dodge might work too.

CT has them, Axxess brand 51R is the blank. It is a little long but 2 minutes with a file cures that, unless you get a CT employee that has a half decent attitude and files it for you.

I got mine cut at the hardware store I used to work at. I found one the right size and asked them to cut it. They had to flip and cut twice but it works perfectly. I won't give you the name though because they are horribly unethical.

A Locksmith did mine. Home Depot's machine wasn't deep or long enough.

L300 before 1995 ; Axxess+ 50
L300 active world and all l400 ; Axxess+53
Cantire and Lowe's have them in stock under the "Hyundai Key".
Working perfect, cost around $2.47.

First try, at a corner store (with the aptly put, "Key Cut Lottery" on the awning, ha ha) they said they didn't have a blank to match. 2nd try, my local hardware store, Coe Lumber, had a good assortment of blanks. As staff routinely ignore me for 20 minutes or more when I need help there, I had found a suitable blank myself before I was interrupted (helps that I worked in a HW store as a teen, and cut keys). First Clerk said it looked good, but second clerk is the resident expert. 2nd clerk agreed, cut it, and it works fine.
Blank is the DC3 X121.
Presumably it will also start a DeHaviland twin out there somewhere. : )

Had this problem before, Home Depot, Rona, CT did not have the blank.
I found a small hole in the wall store that saved me already 3 times.
I am in Edmonton thou.

As soon as I got my L300 I went to the local Mitsubishi Dealer for a spare key.. Every single employee came out to see my van.. (I should add I live in Ontario & not BC) Anyway, they loved my van but couldn't supply me with a spare key. They did write down a number which I took to a fantastic local locksmith. They cut a spare like it was nothin... Saw weeeeeetttt!!
