Happy "Gotcha Day" to my Delica

It was 6 years ago today that we received out Delica L300. Since then it has been an integral part of our lives, taking us on many adventures, including a 33-day, 10,000 km trip via Vancouver to Inuvik.
This past June, I spent at least one night each weekend sleeping in the Deli, for reasons from doing radio communications for a cross-country equestrian event, to emergency radio communications during the floods.
We've been to quite a few Deli meets, meeting wonderful people in both Alberta and BC.
The Deli is showing some signs of wear, going from a factory showroom new (with only 24,000km) to a somewhat modified (rack, lights, etc.) with 130,000 km. But it's still trucking on!
Thanks to this forum. I could not, and would not, have bought a Delica without you wonderful folks to back me up.

I can agree totally.
I have had tessen for 4 years this November.
I would not have bought her or any delica, if not for all the helpful people on this site!
there's nothing better than driving a deli, and making new delica friends!

A little TLC and it isn't hard. I'll keep in mind that we now have forum members in GP. If I end up heading that way anytime soon, I'll give you a shout. And if you are ever in Edmonton or Calgary, I'm sure members in either city would be glad to arrange a Deli meet (aka Deli meat).

You bet, It'd be awesome to check out someone else's van, especially a 92 L300 I hear they are the best year

. I have been looking at them for over four years now and finally bought one, the wife thought I would stop talking about them so much once I got one, haha.

Hey Erebus, congrats on your wonderful care of your lovely deli. Long time no see your deli in my backyard, come visit and meet my new 1997 L300 anytime (local friend bought my 1991 deli).
Glad you were able to help out with the disaster communications, arent these the best Search and Rescue vehicles.
Cheers Christine.

I know it has been way too long since we got to Vancouver area. Not sure when it will happen -- this job thing really interferes with having fun!
Yes, a Delica is an awesome SAR and emergency vehicle. When I was tasked to work at the hospital, the emergency coordinator insisted that I go in the hospital in another vehicle so that if the water rose again the Deli wouldn't be lost. He said the Deli was too valuable as a very flexible vehicle to risk it, especially considering the gear I had: fire dept turnout gear, traffic pylons, radios, emergency lights. I was ready to be fully self-contained and equipped for any tasking for about 48 hours.

This was where I was parked in High River. The Canadian Forces set up their LAVIII command post right beside me. Great minds think alike!
