Best fuel economy

Ok, so my best was 8L/100km without the big tires and roof rack, but with them, I just got 9.18L/100km! My previous fill had me at 13L/100km. The only difference I can think of is that I added a splash of 2 stroke oil.
The otheweird thing is that a lot of my driving was in traffic and my air filter was quite dirty.

Full size roof rack and abit more gear than I should carry. Everyday driving which is back and forth over the Malahat 50km one way. I get a very consistent 475 per 50L.

Nxski 8 per 100 is extremely good economy. The best im getting is 8.8 per 100 and that was 685km using 60.5 litres. But i get constant flat 9's now on my 190km trip each day. I also use 2 stroke oil every time i fill up .

Eight litres per hundred clicks is the cat's arse! That works out to thirty-six miles per gallon, not bad for a two tonne wagon being pushed by a 2.5 litre motor! Typically I get that kind of mileage when driving at 105k-110k (sweet spot) on relatively straight and flat highways, like the Number One between Vancouver and Hope. As you likely know, Nxski, I use Howes Diesel Treat, as well as a little two stroke, I think this has helped. Another think that is a factor is the kind of oil you're using. I usually use the LiquiMoly but one time I couldn't get to it and had to resort to Castrol and my mileage went down a kilometre per litre in the city. When I got the LiquiMoly back the mileage improved again. Are you still using Rotella? Could have a bearing on the matter, as it were.

I'm using Amsoil oil and I use 1/3L of 2 stroke oil with a cap of Petrolabs.
105-110 is actually the speed where I get my worst fuel economy (probably because of the rack).

I definitely get +10% power and fuel economy on my 91' L300 Chamonix with 200:1 two-stroke.
I've never gotten close to Falco's amazing MPGs and best I've every had is 11.4L/100km or 21MPG.
I pretty much always hit right around 12L/100km in city or hwy though. Hwy has to be 105-110km/h to get that.
I have also always run a thule box on top so I'm probably loosing 10% from this. Maybe capable of 10.5L/100km without on flat, straight highway at 105-110 km/h. Like we have those in BC.
Totally stock engine, original IP, no hassles, little invested, no worries.

Just a note ~ when I'm saying 36 MPG I'm using Imperial gallons (4.55ltrs), not American (3.78ltrs). A lot of mileage depends on how you use your right foot, how tight your intake system is, how much PSI is in your tyres (or how big your tyres are), whether you have a roof rack that works like an air brake &c., not to mention where the actuator is set or how the IP is set up. For me it's about balance in action and performance, as kitsch as that may sound.

P.S.: In 2009 I was working out in Aldergrove and I was on the highway from start of the journey to end, so it was a perfect model for testing my highway performance. One week I travelled at eighty kliks (roughly 2,000RPM); one week I was at ninety kliks (2,250ishRPM); one week at one hundred and five (around 2,600 or so RPM). Surprisingly I got the best mileage with the latter, even though my RPM was higher. I don't really understand the finer details of the IP, 'though I have been learning as I go ~ but I suspect that the IP has a cruising speed where it drops less diesel in the chambers. FC.
