I have four pairs of super strong tig welded aluminium roof racks for sale. $350 each. These will only fit L400 high roof.
Each pair has a front and rear bar to compensate for the sloping rain gutter.
The inner tubes extend to widen bars with pre-drilled holes at 4', 5' and 6' but they can be drilled at any size you desire up to a total width of about 7 feet (wide!).
The racks are presently in Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island. PM me if you are interested.

Just a few questions.
So the racks are ~4ft wide when installed but the inner tube(s) can be extended out both sides to increase the total width to up to 7' (6' as is). Or does the inner tube only extend out in one direction?
What are the outside diameter of the inner and outer tubes?
Loal pickup only or would you ship Greyhound etc?

These look very similar to the ones I designed and sent for fabrication for the L300 (also very similar to enviroimports racks). I really like the ones I got from you asorensen, but the feet are quite narrow (my fault, I specified the width based on appearance) and they rock and bent my gutters. Do you know if this will be a problem on the L400's? I also need to have them bent out a bit because they scrape the roof, so I figure I'll just weld on a wider base and have them bent out and all should be good. Another good modification would be to have 2 threaded bolts going through the rack. The pieces that extend out rattle while driving and I've temporarily solved this by wrapping them with half a roll of duct tape because it also allows me to attach a Thule box to the extenders without the box sitting lower on one side and scraping the top of the tower.

Al, I am actually moving away from the Island for a while up to Quesnel and I won't have shop access for a while. So no more projects for the time being. I am not sure how I will survive!

The racks are 4' wide and then each of the tubes (2 per bar) can extend out each side both directions.
OD of the outer tube is just over 1 5/8" (they are made from aluminium pipe so the outside dimensions are not nominal)
OD of the inner tube is just over 1 1/4"
I am travelling to Quesnel towards the end of this week so I can bring them with me and either arrange to meet or put them on the bus.
I should have mentioned in the first post that the racks are supplied with all the fasteners required in rubber coated stainless steel and there are also paint saver rubber pads for the bases.
In terms of the inner bars rattling I have found that the end of the inner tube just needs a little electrical tape on it and the bolt tightened (this has been done with all of these bars)

Bumped into Mr. Sorensen on Monday at CVI and checked out the rack bars on his Delica. Look sweet.
Whoever grabs one of the remaining sets will be lucky indeed.
