I'm going to be heading to our acreage in Arizona next month and wanted to haul a bunch of equipment down with me. I decided to modify my hitch carrier so I would have a more secure place to lock away my tools as I meander my way south, camping as I go. It also frees up the interior as a dedicated camping/living area. My veggie oil jugs will fit in the rack on the lid. It looks huge in the picture but it's actually narrower than the van. Even with that lot there I can still open the rear gate.

I would love a close up of the extra tie down
eyes you bolted by the rear lights of the delica.

Nothing special, just the kind of bolt-in tie-downs used in pickup trucks. I wanted something strong and that wouldn't rust. I'm in the procces of replacing the tie down straps with aircraft wire and turnbuckles. They aren't really used to support a lot of weight as much as keeping the thing from slopping from side to side, as there's a fair bit of play inside the hitch receiver.

Thanks for the picture. The side to side slop is pretty crazy on some attachments.
