From what I can see that's available, it links like the newer ones have higher mileage. The mileage might be correct or low for its year but they're still over 10000kms. I seen a few 94-96 with under 10000.

There was a write up in Australia regarding importing vehicles and the practice of rolling the odometers back before they leave japan. You can't trust any of the mileages. There was even cases of falsified paperwork and invoices to support the improper mileage.

Crazy

Rolling back the OD and falsifying documents seems like a lot of effort for a vehicle that sells for under $2000 USD at auction. The kms are in line with the thousands of other JDM vehicles at auction, many of which sell for less than $500. Now, if you are a dealer selling that van here for over $10 000 - that's a different story.

Doesn't change the fact it happens. Makes them more appealing to buy. Whether they come to canada, NZ, Australia or elsewhere.

Many JDM's are sold without any credible paperwork when they arrive into Canada, or wherever. So I wouldn't be surprised what so ever.. Ever notice the overwhelming silence on the dealers behalf whenever this topic would come up? When shopping for the Pajero, behind the waxy detail and fresh spraypaint underneath, many of the vehicles looked very well used for the sub 100K odo. I was told by more than once dealer that it was because the Japanese spent more time 'in the vehicle, in trafic' yeah, hanging out rubbing the steering wheel and stick shift..

I wonder if it has something to do with the new digital odometers keeping the exporters honest?
