I am planning on having a roof-top tent this summer for my Deli. Ive saved and now its shopping time. Here in Lethbridge we have an ARB dealer that can get an ARB tent for around 1500.00 bucks. I have seen them in real life in a showroom in Phoenix and the quality is very good. They seem to be the 'Cadalac' of the RTT's, but there are other ones out there. So Im looking to see who has experience with them and if there are recommendations for what to avoid or who to talk to. I would buy a used one if there is somebody that wants to get rid of one, but from what I have seen/heard that is rare, so I am guessing I will have to buy new.

Anyone heard of the the sandpiper from Wild Coast. Seems like a good company, but its very hard to get a feel for the quality by a few internet pics.

If you got some good insight, I'd love to her it!!

I'm planning to do the same thing. I'm selling my old Winnebago LeSharo with a Rernault drivetrain and camperizing my Delica. It's time to simplify things and get the vehicles down to a manageable number.

Anyway, I've been looking at the Roof Top Tents as also. There's lots to choose from and I've found it hard to decide which one is best. They all seem a little pricey to me but I'm sure you get what you pay for...

Used ones are hard to come by. I did find a sweet pop up style one with the hard shell on kijiji but did't get on it fast enough.

Anyway, good luck. Keep us posted on what you end up getting. I'm gonna hold out till the spring. It's so fuc#*ing cold in Ontario right now, I can't get my head around even thinking about the camping season.

I got one of the hard shell RTT from Autohome Columbus. I prefer the hardshell for its streamline shape (couldn't tell it was up there) and easy of deployment (3 secs). There are very pricey new but I see they come up used regularly on Craigslist generally for about $1000. Because they don't get used much, they are typically in excellent shape.
