Hi from Quebec !
Plan to buy a 25 YO Delica in BC but I would to know the ways that I can use for bringing it in the east, to Quebec. Upon buying, does BC autorities gives transit permit (temporary plate) that would alloud me to drive it down here; that last long enough (3-4 days) and are they valid outside BC ? Here in Quebec, they now only gives 24 hours temporary plate that alloud you to go for the mecanical inspection, then, if ok, you can finally get your plates. Or do I need temporay plate for all the crossed provinces ? Or, will I have to haul in or hire someone to haul it to Wonderfull Quebec
Much Thanls

Alberta has a 14day transfer policy on vehicle plates and registration from date of sale of a vehicle. We need to have the bill of sale in the event police pull us over.
We need to have a vehicle with a current registration and insurance for the 14 day transfer.
Ask your provincial registration office what the policy is on transfer of registration from a current vehicle to something you just purchased.....might want to leave the part out about it being a JDM when you ask.

You can pick up 3 day or so insurance at the time you purchase your vehicle
in BC. Goto the insurance broker in BC with the title/bill of sale and purchase both
the insurance and 3 day permit.
It's how I brought mine back from BC to Sask.
No Worries.

I heard on Radio-Canada radio this afternoon a long piece about how they are subsidizing people to buy electric cars to the tune of $8,000 per vehicle, how the province is committed to installing charging stations all over the province, and all I could think about was what I read on this forum re. their provincial policy on RHD vehicles.
I hope Québec still allows people to register and drive quality vehicles from Europe and Japan...

I would check on cost of shipping; by the time you travel out here and drive back, including food and motels, you might find it a lot easier to just wait for it to be delivered by rail or truck. It's quite easy to arrange. I used to drive long distances to pick up vehicles, but found it was a lot easier and almost as cheap to pay someone else. Right now I have a VW van coming from Raonoke Virgina for $1900.00. By the time I flew down there and drove back it would have been almost as much, with a crazy amount of driving involved.
