Tonight I "finished" the rebuild I have been doing since May 2013. Took it for a drive.

Haha Yeah i had to make little concrete pads on the driveway to support the axle stands as the drive slopes massively . Swapping out the gearbox was a mission.

everything is in exc pt the towbar and bullbars. all stock but the tyres are 30 x 9.5 A/T on 15 inch rims. This model van was rated light commercial and specced for 14 inch x 195 6-ply tyres to give the 850kg load rating. All the driveline except the motor is now from a same-year Starwagon 2.5Turbo D. Thus the front and rear differential ratios have gone from 5.285 to 4.875. The starwagon was rated for 15inch 215 passenger wheels as it is a domestic transport vehicle not a goods van. I can't get a Warrant of Fitness with 15 inch wheels. 14 inch 6 bolt wheels are very hard to find. Can't get on the road yet. My Mazda has 6 bolt 14 inch rims, but the center bore is too small. If I can't find any I'm chopping the flange off Mazda ones to open up the center.

Look for wheels from the old Datsun/Nissan and Toyota 2wd Pickups which did use 14" 6 bolt rims.

What does your registration office say about wheel adaptors. A bolt on spacer with secondary studs might be allowed in your area and that will give you the gap required to use your mazda rims with the mitsu mounts. Here's a loose plate style but they are not recommended because they compromise stud length which increases risk of becoming loose or not having enough threads for the wheel nut. If you do get your mazda rims modified I would suggest you get a machinist to open the center hole and make it look like 'factory made'.

Yeah they're in short supply also i think. Popular vehicles.
Those plates prob wouldn't help as the problem is the center bore being too small so they won't slide on over the front hubs which are pretty long. They probably would fail the test too.
But today i found 3 more Mazda rims at a wrecker they didn't know they had them. $11 each. Will get the center of two of them machined to the right size. Sorted!

they were all badly messed up with weather and shit paint so I buffed them back to metal, did thick blue zinc coat, then white zinc, then black zinc patterns.

oh also adapter plates are illegal :-/
