Hello everyone, i have another q:
For quite some time now the 2-Wheel drive indicator would not turn on. The other day i was tired of it and decided to open it all up and replace the bulb.
And so i did, and also decided to check if any other lights were burned. Coming to the A/T light i found the black plug was in place but no bulb in it.
Surprised by this, i placed a bulb in it and closed everything back up again.
Now when i start the car (cold start) the A/T light will come on solid, turn off for one second or so and start blinking. It never stops. My A/T levels seem alright
after driving around for a while. The fluid level is at HOT on the dipstick.
What i cant seem to understand is that the A/T warning indicates a high temperature of the transmission. But how can it be hot at a cold start. And never goes away.
Fluid levels look alright, the car goes in gear nicely, no hanging or abnormal behavior. The fluid color doesnt look too bad. I will have it changed next month or so.
When the car is completely cold the fluid level is waaay over but thats normal as ive seen in a video because the fluid still has to be moved around. Which it does so i think the pump is working fine. Maybe this is why some mechanic removed the bulb?
I'm suspecting the A/T sensor. Any other ideas anyone?

According to the Aussie club guys the AT dash light comes on when tranny fluid temps inside the gearbox are high. They do have some recommended actions: Its important to note that tranny fluid is pumped through a coolant transfer tank inside the lower tank of the radiator...If the coolant temp gets too high it can't carry excess heat away which could trigger the AT light as well. Go to this thread and learn more.

Hi Big Bird,
I'm reading the thread right now. Dont see anything explaining the warning at a cold start? Under any condition hot or cold it wont shut off.
I should have the manual you spoke of in the thread. I worked with the one posted about the dash.
Perhaps i will try to locate the sensor

In your case its probably sensor/connection related as you stated.

I think so too. Which is why they removed the bulb i think
I will have the tranny professionally changed next month or so.
God knows how long that thing was blinking after all this time. Been driving this car for over 1.5 years now
