Hey there folks,

I'm in the process of camperizing my '93 Super Exceed. So now it's going to have a sink with a l'il pump to access the water & a 12/110V fridge installed. I have the 2 battery option in my engine compartment.

My question is what can I do to make this set up work most efficiently?? I'm wondering if I can replace the batteries in my van and maybe have one as a deep cycle on a isolator to run the fridge on 12 volts when theres no 110 volt source?? Could I run some kind of solar panel to keep charging the batteries while running the fridge?

I don't know much about this stuff but I'm thinking someone on here does.... I don't mind spending a l'il cash on good batteries and stuff so long as I can come up with something that would work well when 110 power is not available.

If anyone has some decent knowledge on this type of stuff, I'd love to hear from you. The camping season seems to have arrived. At least in Ontario anyway.....

biggest problem I see with this kind of setup(as I've considered it)is lack of room for electrical hardware under the hood. with duel batteries there is not a lot of room underneath there for a battery isolator/solenoid and other hardware.
I've wanted to do this for some time now, let me know how your project goes.

Thanks Man. The biggest problem I'm having now is sifting through the possibilities. And sine most of this type of stuff is foreign to me, there's quite a learning curve to it all.

My main concern or want is to have a small fridge working inside the van for several days even when there's no "shore power" I've looked at a few different types of fridges and some of the more expensive ones seem to be very efficient compared to something like a 12v Coleman Cooler... I think these are compressor type fridges..??...

Anyway, it all comes down to a decent set of batteries, maybe a solar panel on the roof, and whatever else is possible..

One of the easiest things you can do these days is just buy a portable power pack. This way you can use it inside the delica when driving/camping, but also take it out when you get to your campsite if needed.
I've been researching and this seems to be one of the best. Just buy a good deep cycle battery and drop it in. Away you go. And you don't have to worry about disturbing your dual battery setup for the delica.
You can charge it via 12v while driving and it puts out 12v or 110v. Plus USB ports.
The unit is a reasonable price. Probably less than what you'd pay to go through the hassle of buying parts and installing your own.
If you're putting in a sink/cabinet you could probably just tuck it away underneath.

That's it right there!!! That would work perfectly for my set up. This with a wicked deep cycle battery and it's a done deal..... I'm going to order one.
