Engine turns off, most of the time.

Hello all, late last week my L300 started not turning off when I turn the engine off.

Now I know there are some modifications going on because if I have my night time lights on and I turn off the engine it still runs until i turn the lights off.
I been able to turn the vehicle off by pulling out a fuse.

I have a couple of ideas of what might be the problem, but considering the combined experience on this board, I thought I'd pick your brains.
If anyone has a educated guess, I'd appreciate it before I dive in and try and troubleshoot.

Cheers,
Marcus

The fuel shut off solenoid is misbehaving. When the fuel pressure cuts out the injectors shut off and the engine stops.

You may have inadvertently connected a constant power supply to the fuel shut off solenoid....Thats where I would check first and track it down from there.

It could also be a damaged wire in the section of loom that runs to the injector pump- it vibrates a lot and can rub through the insulation.

funny, i was about to post about the SAME problem.
if the lights are on, i can take the key all the way out, and it still runs! until i turn the lights off.
i went and got a new battery, (needed to anyway) now the battery isn't charging, the dash lights don't work, and we need a jump to get it started.
what the heck is going on?
I'll be spending most of tomorrow digging around for fried wires... but right now, I'm going to pick up my girlfriend and bcaa the dead van back home.
