So when I first put my '94 L 400 on the road in Canada I had to have some of my lights hooked up as day time running lights. Ever since then my wiring has been a little glitchy, like my dash lights come on when I use my signals. Nothing to crazy but still glitchy.
The other day my van got way to glitchy, my dash lights and my left turn signal got stuck on some how. I can't figure out how to fix this. I don't have any sort of electrical knowledge base, and I don't know where to start. I took the steering wheel cover off and disconnected the wiring harness for the turn signals. I did that a couple times but it did not help. I also checked for blown fuses and found none.
I don't even have a map of the fuses to know what they power. Does anyone have any info or resources for learning about the electrical and how to work on it. I am currently traveling in the United States and I haven't found anyone who can test it for me or help me fix it.

You say STUCK ON, does that mean the signal arm won't return to the off position? If this is the case something in the switch body may have broken off....common issue is UV damage on plastic parts in our Delicas. CREGAN posted a part number from Rockauto for this new part. And no the signal switch can't be taken apart and glued together. Many have tried that already.

If the switch is okay, I would look at the DRL module, which are a pain in the a$$ when they fail. Some models take power from more than one place and can ground out internally which causes all manner of electrical gremlins.

So I pulled the turn signal assembly apart and found the little plastic piece that switches the signals on and off to be broken. As you suggested this part was just week plastic. But I was able to fix it, heres how.
With a very small drill bit I drilled out the spot where the plastic knob was, and also the little piece that broke off. Then I used a small metal pin (like a thumb tack, or very small nail) to give the plastic knob a strong core. Then I super glued the metal pin with the plastic knob on it, into the hole on the turn signal assembly.
Put it all back and works like a charm. I guess ill see how long it lasts.
